Gadget Show Live 2011 – sneak peek

The Gadget show live this year is the biggest ever; with the Game Zone, Test Track, the presenters’ signing sessions and hundreds of stands packed with the most exciting technology – there's something for everyone. Greta, the latest member of our team working on consumer technology PR went to the show preview. Here are a few things to keep a special eye on whilst at the show:

The Future Project

If you ever wanted to the power of mind control you have got to visit the Future project’s stand. There you can witness this amazing brain-powered tech in action. The Neurosky’s headset, which is used in this innovative technology, monitors faint electrical signals on your scalp, allowing you to fully control anything from games to heavy machinery using just your brainwaves!

Technology test track

The test track

Make sure you get to the test track early as the testing centre is only available on a first come first serve basis. The most exciting thing in the test track this year has got to be the world’s first road legal electric bicycle. This eco-friendly mode of transport can travel up 45 miles once fully charged and can reach a top speed of 30 miles per hour. Forget the Barclays bicycles in London, with this beauty you'll be the geekiest kid on the block.

3d technology

3D Technology

The NEC was absolutely filled with 3D paraphernalia; it almost felt like there were more people with glasses on than off! 3D cinema, 3D gaming, 3D printing and even 3D sound, I think it’s safe to say that 2011 is the year for 3D technology.

Gaming technology

Gaming

As usual the show has its soft spot for the games lovers. Exhibitors will get the chance to play with all the latest releases in the industry: Microsoft Kinect for the Xbox’s 360, the Nintendo 3DS, SONY’s NGP and various RC models, this hall will definitely not leave you disappointed. Alongside hot new gaming releases and motion gaming, you will also find vintage consoles and replica classic arcade machines worth checking out.

Other things to look out for

Whilst trying to get a snap of the shows loveable presenters, don’t forget to enter the myriad of free competitions available on almost every stand. The HUB Theatre will have some great presentations on the best tech right now and most importantly don’t forget to say helloi to Titat the Robot – the planet's favourite android.

Enjoy the Show!
